Bossa Nova is BACK!

The highly anticipated reopening of Bossa Nova is now a reality, and Moire has moved to larger premises and given us some lovely new releases. The new store in the Amour sim has a clean look and is a dream to browse. Getting there the minute it opened meant that I was the first person to purchase Moire's new limited edition \o/. Now that's quite an achievement for an Aussie who is very rarely online for any of the big events or openings, and usually wakes up in the morning to find it's all over and everything is gone :)

On to the new releases. I was drooling over the Norma outfit the minute Moire posted a preview of it on her Flickr. This is a very sophisticated retro silk dress, complete with veiled hat and gloves. Moire says it's inspired by film noir and it definitely has that feel to it. Beautifully textured, this just oozes class and old fashion glamour. Each dress comes with 2 options for the shirt - belted or softly draped.

I was pretty excited about the release of a Bossa Nova Limited Edition. Insensatez is something of a surprise package - although it's priced at 1500L it IS actually worth it. The dress has a romantic feel whilst remaining completely sophisticated, and includes an intricate floral choker and matching earrings. The value for money part comes in when you realise that this is actually 12 dresses - the dress comes in four colour combinations (black, white, black/white and white/black) with 3 different skirts for each outfit. Only 50 will be sold.

The last release, Francoise, is sweet and romantic, with delicate lace features and gloves. It comes in four pastel colours. I am wearing the freebie group release below, which was distributed to the bossa nova group and FashCon. Moire has always been extremely generous in releasing freebies to her group members, most of them exclusive colour options of items that she sells in store. This is one update group I would really recommend that you join.
All pictures taken at Straylight (Kriss you are my fucking HERO and always a damn good friend too), all hair by artilleri and shoes from Shiny Things. Antique Pearl Choker and Earrings by Paper Couture exclusively for the Jewelry Expo.

Forget Paper Couture, forget Last Call - if you are looking for a cocktail dress for that romantic date or special event, D3volution has you covered! The Minkee and Cointreau cocktail dresses are THE ultimate in sophisticated style for the discerning fashionista. And what would else would you expect from the store that has brought us such couture essentials as the Raggy Ass skirt, the Soviet Overcoat and the ultimate in sexy lingerie - grab bags of used tights, bras and, er....... panties. Although all D3volution clothing comes with a warning to wear rubber gloves when handling, they DO guarantee that all items have been deloused prior to being made available for sale. The Lush cocktail dresses feature lace petticoat skirts with matching corsets, sexy lace trimmed bras and satin striped body stockings. To finish off the look, each Lush dress includes a classy cocktail beanie complete with feather. New Goodies from artilleri

Antonia Marat's ability to churn out high quality new releases for artilleri never ceases to amaze me. This latest release is particularly exciting because it includes six new makeups for the Lily Skins. If you haven't checked out the Lily skins, run to artilleri now and grab some demos. These retro styled hand drawn skins feature sexy "cat eye" style liner, tons of colourful makeup options, just a smattering of freckles, and gorgeous rosy blush (why do so many skin designers skimp on the blush?). The Lily Skins are available in 5 skintones, with singles only 600L and packs of 4 for a discounted 1800L. The price alone has to win you over.

I love Antonia's dresses and the new "Jeannae" dress does not disappoint. Flirty 50s styling with a cute polka dot pattern and flexi skirt, it's available in 7 colours. Singles are 200L and the fat pack is great value at 700L.

Antonia has also released 3 new tank tops, sold in packs of 2 for 180L. Love the Cherry tank!

FABULOUS New Releases from artilleri

Anyone who knows Swirly would be well aware that Antonia Marat is Swirly's all time favourite designer. Antonia's little store artilleri sells the most fabulous old fashioned clothing; true period pieces which are perfect for fans of historical fashion. The latest releases from artilleri are the divine Roaring Gwen dress, which Antonia says was inspired by a person called Gwen Stefani, and the adorable Leo Flats shoes. Like everything at artilleri, these items are historically accurate, so Swirly decided to model them in 19th century Caledon for you. As you can see, she fits right in to her surroundings, thanks to Antonia's keen eye for detail.

The Roaring Gwen dress in pink is perfect for a spot of afternoon trainspotting. The Leo Flats come with red, black and pink ribbons. Can you guess which colour ribbons Swirly is wearing here?
The Roaring Gwen dress comes in six colours, and black is just one of them! Here is Swirly wearing the black dress in a stranger's house.
Swirly loves this dress in green, it goes perfectly with these depressing ruins on a barren moor.
The Leo Flats come in a pack of 3 for only 180L; and the Roaring Gwen dresses are 200L each, or 650L for a fat pack with all six colours. Bargain darlings!

Glorious Gowns from Blaze

Hello darlings, Swirly here. As anyone who knows Swirly would be aware, Blaze Columbia is Swirly's all time favourite designer. Swirly was heartbroken that she never got to wear her Blaze Unforgettable wedding gown after being callously and cruelly dumped without explanation by her former fiance Stephen Bentham. But Swirly is fine now, because Blaze has released a fabulous new gown called Elegance 2, and sent it to Swirly to review after she begged to have it! Stephen darling, you can burn in hell, and don't even think about asking Swirly to give that gown back!

Elegance 2 is a remake of an older Blaze gown, Elegance. Or is that Elegance 1? Never mind darlings. This classic gown comes in thirty different colours, yes, THIRTY! Swirly's favourite is orange, which she is graciously modelling for you in the picture below. Doesn't Swirly look stunning?

Swirly is wearing Elegance 2 in Rose in the picture below, which is a NEW colour darlings! Run to Blaze now and grab yourself one, or thirty, of these gorgeous gowns. YOU could look as pretty as Swirly!

Talisman Designs - Fabulously Flexi!

Hello darlings, Swirly here! Flexi prims are second only to bling as the most crucial development in Second Life fashion history. While Swirly would rather not see too much flex in hair (what ever happened to hairspray darlings?) she just can't get enough of it in her dresses!

Swirly was rolling around on the floor after one too many cocktails at one of Lilibeth Andree's soirées, when she noticed
an overly thin but otherwise attractive woman wearing the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. Of course, Swirly just had to make it her own so she dropped into Talisman Designs and was fortunate enough to meet the designer, Hazel Kyrgyz. No dears, Swirly can't pronounce it either.

Talisman Designs is home of the 50L flexi dress, that's right darlings, everything is 50L! But these aren't just any old flexi dresses, these are flexi dresses with extra floof! Swirly's knowledge of boring, technical building terms is somewhat limited, so she asked Hazel exactly what this extra floof is. Hazel responded that "the dress basically eats you". Well dears, Swirly doesn't know about THAT, but she does know that when she wore one of these dresses to ETD it did try to eat several customers standing nearby. Darlings, this is flex that just doesn't stop. As well as being fabulously super flexi when you move, these dresses continue to flex even when you are standing still! And what better way to draw attention to yourself in a crowd?

Swirly has chosen to model
the more brightly coloured dresses for you here today but there are some more subtle styles for the boring amongst you. Go visit Talisman Designs now darlings, and pick up one or more of these fabulous 50L dresses! Just not the ones Swirly is modelling, please. That would be blatant copying.
