Decoy

I visited Annette Voight's store Decoy for the first time today after seeing an announcement for the Elisa dress on the Fashion World of SL feed. The store has only a very small inventory of hand-drawn clothing and according to Annette's blog has only been open since September. What is available so far so greatly impressed me that I ended up leaving the creator one of those fangirl-ish "OMG YOUR STUFF IS AMAZING" type IMs. The apparel at Decoy combines obvious technical ability with classic style and attention to detail.

Elisa is the dress that got me in the door, so-to-speak. Between the unusual stone inlays on the neck, the rouching on the bust and the sleek cut of the skirt I fell in love. I'm wearing the dress in Brown/Teal, Brown/Creme and (my favourite) Wine/Tangerine. The deep wine accented with a rich burnt orange looks puts me in mind of arriving to a gala event feeling rich and important.

Hair: Slow Jamz 2007 - Dark Brown from Hiccup. Skin: Sierra Skin - Pearl Set 2 - 100 from Cake. Eyes: Fantastic Realism Collection - Holly from Miriel. Shoes: (main) BOOTS Smoke-Leather from Redgrave (inset) Vidalia Pump - Noir Croc from Armidi Gisaci.

The Just Peachy Cardigan (shown here in red but available in several colours) is an excellent separate for the cooler months. My fellow button-addicts will be impressed by the perfect hand-drawn button that pulls the cardigan closed under the bust.

Hair: Veronica I - Chocolate from Celestial Studios. Skin: S3 pale ~ Sunset from Tuli. Eyes: Fantastic Realism Collection - Holly from Miriel.

There is more great button detail on the Hooded Blazer, along with little pockets. I'm sure that in the coming weeks this jacket will become a staple in my wardrobe. The hood of the jacket is sculpted and I adore the slightly boyish cut and of course the colour. I chose Navy (it's nice to have a signature colour) but another thing that stood out to me in Decoy was the colour pallet that Annette uses. I'm always drawn to slightly muted colours because they tend to read better in a CGI. The designs at Decoy are coloured with perfect slightly muted tones without slipping into being dull or greyish.

Hair: Ashley - Chocolate from ETD. Skin: S3 pale ~ halo aqua from Tuli. Eyes: Fantastic Realism Collection - Holly from Miriel. Shoes: SNEAKERS Nacre-White from Redgrave. Shorts: Rolled Docker shorts - White & Navy from Elephant Outfitters.

I teamed the Hot Addiction Dress (great name, even better dress) with the Serendipity Shirt (shown in Golden Tan, Light Green and Orange) to give the fun little dress a little more skin-coverage. I was very pleased to see that at least two layer options are available with Decoy apparel and in the case of the Serendipity Shirt - all three. The texturing on this dress is beautiful and I was particularly impressed by the virtually invisible seam between upper and lower layers which is often a problem spot. I found the prim easy to fit and it blends very well with the pants layer.

Hair: The Soho - Harvest Gold from Armidi. Skin: Vivant Buff Sultry 1 from Tete a Pied. Eyes: Fantastic Realism Collection - Holly from Miriel.

Savvy? The next big thing in Maternity Wear!

Savvy?
The best thing that's happened for us knocked up hookers since abortions!

Dakota Buck! There are lots of things to say about Dakota Buck. One, she is married to my ex-wife, Stephanie Misfit, and two...she's the next big designer in Maternity Wear. I first looked at the clothes and thought, no, not maternity wear, but I tried them on and to my surprise they were the perfect maternity wear.

I have never been so happy
to have a burden inside me. Without that burden those clothes would not look so perfect on me. I really owe Dakota Buck a lot, and so do the rest of you knocked up hookers. It's not often a designer spends their time working so hard to perfect maternity wear, but fortunately for us, there is a Dakota Buck in our world. <3>

Why not spread your legs wide open and let that filthy man fill you with his seed?
Look how cute you can end up looking. :)

Prettiest Skins in SL

I was helping a friend adjust his eyebrows when I found it. He'd just bought one of Canimal's Core Skins so naturally enough I had to grab a demo. I was blown away when I tried it on. UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE. After several minutes of staring in awe of my own beauty I TPed in my lovely new wife Stephanie. Steph and I have shared skin tips before and before we bought the Core skins I didn't think we could be more in love with each other. Canimal has proved me wrong.

I've enlisted the help of my love, Stephanie, to model the skins. She was kind enough to stay home from the pub tonight for the purpose... that and she's on a three day ban from our local for last night's run-in.

Fashion Victim cares: Even though I love Stephanie sometimes she can get a little careless when she's drunk. If you find yourself in a similar situation I recommend Flock hair by Launa Fauna. Here I'm wearing it in Ginger Brown. With the bangs swept so classily to the side it becomes easy to hide the swelling that blossoms around your eye.
Stephanie Misfit: Bubby, you know I only hit you when I'm drunk.
Dakota Buck: You're always drunk.

Australia Says No!

Ladies if you're looking for love then this is the skin to look in. Stephanie and I can't keep out eyes, or hands off each other. She surprised me by the bin with a little spontaneous make-out session - that could be you with your bum pressed against the cool plastic of a bin-lid, the allure of these skins are so strong.

The minimalist make-up lets your natural beauty glow through with the too-cool-to-care week old eyeliner smudged around your peepers for that sultry look. Canimal's skins are perfect for the fashion conscious as they feature the thicker - bushy, if you will - eyebrows that are so en vogue right now.

It may seem that I have nothing but high praise for these skins, but in all honesty, there are one or two faults that I really feel need to be addressed. The issues I have with this skin were only revealed when my lovely wife and I made a move to the bedroom. As breath-taking as her body always is, I was a little taken a-back at Steph's "happy trail" - the unsightly line of body-hair beginning at her belly-button and disappearing into the waist-band of her knickers. We also found the muscle definition on the belly to be most peculiar. This almost masculine stomach shading gives no consideration to womanly curves - it even seemed strange on my love's slender frame.

Unfortunately by the time I had gotten over my initial shock and was ready to over-look the skin's faults Steph had passed-out cold and despite my best efforts we were forced to postpone the friskiness until she sobered up.

Get Canimal's Core Skins - it's time to be beautiful, Second Life!

Lovey's Boutique - Prettiest Skins in SL

I saw Dakota Buck yesterday wearing THE prettiest skin I have ever seen. It was made by Lovey Darling from Lovey's Boutique. I've since asked Dakota to please only wear ugly things around me, because when I TPed to Lovey's store I was so blown away by how gorgeous her skins are, I bought them all.

Quite simply, these skins have the loveliest faces I have ever seen. They do have a hand drawn look to them but the detail and shading is flawless. The brows are some of the best I have seen and the lips are luscious with a gorgeous little cupid's bow. The faces have a slight shine to them which gives a realistic appearance, and the cheeks have a subtle rosy glow. However it was the makeup that really impressed me. I never wear skins with bright lipstick or eyeshadow, and usually stick to neutral tones. But I found myself unable to resist the skins with green eyeshadow, cherry red and hotpink lipstick. There are quite a few neutral makeups as well which are just as lovely.

Single skins are 900L and are available in 5 different skin tones - Strawberry Milk, Honey, Chai, Caramel and BonBon. I bought the Strawberry Milk skins, which are the palest skintone. There are 8 different makeup options, and you can choose to buy these in packs of 4 for only 2400L. This is a great price for 4 skins, however I couldn't decide which pack to buy so just bought the lot. The makeup options in both packs are shown below.

Kit 1 contains Blueberry, Cafe, Cherry (which has the most gorgeous beauty spot) and Vanilla.

Kit 2 has Bubblegum, Kiwi, Mulberry and Peach. All as yummy as they sound!

The detail and shading on the body is nicely done, realistic without being, well, pornographic. These skins don't suffer from the faded nipple look I have noticed on a lot of other skins. The shading for the cleavage is really well done. As for the genital area, this is quite subtle and each makeup choice comes with 2 skins with different options, one with a slight "landing strip" and the other with no hair at all.

If you haven't done so yet, head over to Lovey's Boutique at Fashion Mode and check out the demos for these skins. But take lindens!

This Trashy Life

Swirly seems to have already given me a fairly decent introduction so I don't really see a need for me to give the obligatory self-intro. I am Dakota Buck and you should already know the rest.

In Second Life, where anyone can have all the most fabulous clothes, it would be easy to assume that those with the best clothes will be the best dressed. At a glance it's fairly easy to see that this is not so. Nothing's stopping you from buying every item ever blogged (congrats' if you can, but try to do it without ending up in jail – the food isn't too crash hot) but this exercise is close to pointless if you can't rock your look.

There's a trashy craze emerging from our little virtual fashion world, now this is not the Club Arsheba escort service kind of trashy, this is fierce and colourful and inspired by trashylife.com. Items are being released by content creators like Arbel Vogel (Winter Moon) and Pandora Jensen (PanJen) as the charge is lead by the perma-fierce Ms. Satine Dot (Old Gravy). These girls have got it, but unfortunately simply wearing their stuff doesn't mean that you do. Exploring your trashy side can be a dangerous business for the junior fashionista when you take into consideration how easy it is to look like a dirty dirty cumdumpster in sl – not a challenge to be taken lightly. I've put together some hints for trying out this trend before you start ripping your tutus, tanks and tights.

Just say no to hooker heels. You know the one's I'm talking about, Trashiness calls for some impressive stilettos but once you cross that line into stripper shoe territory you'll be filling in a GOL (Goddess of Love) application form in no time.

Ban the bling and other faux-glamorous jewelry. If your body is blingin' you have no right to be within a four sim radius of me or anyone else for that matter. There really needs to be a separate blingtard section as with the smoking and non-smoking sections in real life. Relating this back, the other prevalent jewelry sin is that hideous white/silver texture, accessories crafted from this will not work with your trashy life look (or any other time while I'm on the topic). If you want to work this look try brightly coloured plastic - like hat you used to wear as a little girl. Get multiple bangles, the type that clack together when you move, and link them together. Layer your necklaces. Mismatch your earrings.

Mix and match until you find the trashy look that works for you. Be theatrical and glam.

Swirly is NOT happy darlings!

Well darlings, as you would all be aware Swirly requested applications from people who were interested in joining the wonderful and talented team of writers here at Fashion Victim. With menial tasks being beneath her station, Swirly left it up to Stephanie and Ayami to filter the applications and select the best writers. BIG mistake darlings. Swirly was expecting to find that all sorts of fabulous people like ZsaZsa Withnail and Celebrity Trollop had been chosen to write for her, but oh no, just look at what those two silly girls have dredged up.

'Kota Buck, who isn't even bothering to use her real name here, is a KNOWN criminal. Swirly has photographic proof darlings, thanks to the mugshot below which was kindly provided by the Imogen Police. And Swirly thought Imogen was such a nice sim. 'Kota's illegal activities include running a speakeasy called Buckie's House of Hooch which is home to all sorts of unsavoury characters. Swirly was also shown some photographs of Dakota which were semi-pornographic and highly offensive, and which certainly will not be published here.

As if things couldn't get any worse, next they bring in Lizardbeth Lulu, who is a green lizard. Swirly will tolerate furries to a certain extent as long as they are cute and cuddly, but LIZARDS?? Disgusting darlings. Now please cover your eyes and try not to look at the following photo lest it scar you for life.

Next we have the appalling Karl Kleiber, a psychopathic militant revolutionary whose unsavoury activities include trying to spread the communist word in Gor. Karl is pictured here during a brutal and unprovoked attack on poor innocent alien mutant furries. Swirly can only hope that Karl never posts here, his dress sense is terrible.

But Swirly has saved the worst for last. Furiae Blackthorne is a child. A DEAD child. I am sorry darlings but there is just no place for this kind of thing on Fashion Victim, or anywhere else for that matter. Swirly does not want her publication to become some kind of breeding ground for necrophiliac age players. And Swirly doesn't care that Furiae is wearing Simone in this photo; fine, the child may have at least some fashion sense but will you just LOOK at her?

And please nobody, NOBODY, even mention the homeless person to Swirly......... ever.

*smooches*
